What is MySQL?
MySQL is a fast, easy-to-use, multi-user SQL (Standard
Query Language) database server in a standard client/server
environment. SQL is the most commonly used method of defining,
manipulating, and searching data in a database. MySQL handles
graphics as well as text datas. It is frequesntly implemented
in UNIX and LINUX platforms and is available under a GNU
Public License.

How can I create databases?
You can create MySQL databases easily using your Control Panel.
Log-in to your Control Panel. Click on MySQL icon
or link. Under the Db: field, supply in the name
of the database. Click on Add Db Button.

How do I manage my Database?
Every account we have has a phpMyAdmin pre-installed and
can be accessed through the Control Panel. Log-in to your
Control Panel and click on MySQL Databases Icon or link.
Find below teh link that says phpMyAdmin, then
click on it. You should see a pop-up window loading your phpMyAdmin.

How can I back-up my database?
Log-in to your Server Administrator, then click on Databases.
Select the database name that you wish to back-up. Click on phpMyAdmin
to the right. On your phpMyAdmin window, click on the database
name on the upper left column. You should now see the list of
tables in your database. Scroll down until you see a list box
tagged "View dump (schema) of database". Select
all tables in the list box that you wish to back-up. Select the
radio button that says "Structure AND Data".
Check on the checkbox that says "Save as file",
then hit "GO" button. You will be prompted to
save the file with a .sql extension. Name your .sql file and save.

How do I restore the file into the MySQL
database?
Follow the steps above until you reach the phpMyAdmin window.
Open the .sql file that you have saved using either Notepad
or Wordpad. Select All then Copy and Paste
it into the box labelled "Run SQL query/queries on database"
in phpMyAdmin. Hit "GO" button. This should recreate
the tables as it was in your Database.
